Operational Resilience in GMP Operations
What is operational resilience in GMP?
Operational resilience is an operation's ability to keep making, testing and releasing quality product through disruption: equipment failure, a supply problem, a cyber incident or the absence of key people. Resilience plans usually cover equipment and suppliers well. People are the part they cover least.
What does people resilience mean in practice?
Every critical step has more than one qualified person. Procedures describe the work as it is done. Coordination runs through systems that anyone on the team can see, not through one person's inbox or memory. A two-week absence slows nothing down.
How do you measure it?
Through the opposite: how much the operation depends on specific people. HDI gives a 0โ100 score for that dependency, by layer and by process, and the hours a month it costs. A falling HDI over time means growing resilience.
