HDI for Automation Agencies
Why do automation agencies use HDI?
HDI gives an automation agency what most are missing: a measurable diagnosis to sell before the build. Instead of opening with "what would you like to automate?", you open with a 10-minute screening that shows the client — in their own numbers — where their operation depends on specific people and how many hours a month that dependency absorbs. The audit itself is a paid engagement, and its output is a prioritised list of automation entry points: your project pipeline, scoped on evidence.
What does the agency actually get?
- A productised audit to sell. A two-phase methodology: free screening as the hook, paid audit as the engagement. Pricing on request, scoped per engagement.
- The tooling to deliver it. The client-facing screening, the auditor's workshop instrument with behavioural scoring anchors, triangulation against the client's self-assessment, and the report skeleton.
- A defensible number. Clients hesitate at "trust us, automation will help". They act on "your operation leaks ≈1,100 hours a month, concentrated in these three processes".
- Follow-on work by design. Every audit ends with prioritised entry points — implementation projects the client already believes in, because the evidence came from their own people.
How does an engagement run?
- Screening (client, ~10 minutes, free). The client's team completes the Phase 1 self-assessment; you and the client both see the score, layers, heatmap and hours-leak.
- Workshop (half a day on site or remote). You run a structured focus-group session with the client's key people against the calibrated instrument — scoring anchors, flags, verbatim quotes.
- Results session (45–60 minutes, live). You walk leadership through the findings — including the perception gap between management's picture and the frontline reality — and agree priorities.
- Report and roadmap. The written report follows the session: decoded findings, quantified losses on agreed assumptions, prioritised automation entry points and an implementation plan — which you are first in line to deliver.
Do I need to be a pharma specialist?
No. The methodology was born in pharma and life sciences — cell & gene therapy, ATMP, CDMO — and that origin is part of its credibility: if it survives regulated operations, it survives anywhere. Industry packs adapt the questions, anchors and benchmarks to each sector, and a general business pack covers operations outside life sciences. What you bring is what agencies already have: process literacy and the ability to run a structured conversation.
How do I start?
Start by taking the screening yourself, on your own agency — most founders find their own bus factor before their clients'. Then talk to us about a pilot: the Pilot Pack includes one full supervised audit and 30 days of screening access, and its cost counts toward a licence if you continue — pricing on request.
