HDI for Pharma Software Vendors: QMS, LIMS, MES

Updated 6 October 2026

Why do software vendors use HDI?

Pharma software sales often stall on one question: why now? A quality or operations lead who wants a new QMS, LIMS or MES needs a budget argument, and a feature list rarely gives one. HDI gives the evidence. The prospect completes a screening of about 15 minutes and sees, in its own numbers, how much of the operation depends on specific people and how many hours a month that costs.

How does the screening open the conversation before the demo?

Put your screening link where prospects already look: your website, an outreach email, a webinar follow-up, a conference stand. The prospect needs no call and no budget. About 15 minutes later it has a score, three layer scores, a heatmap of its own processes and the hours a month lost to dependency. Your logo and "Powered by HDI" sit at the top of the page, so the result carries your name. Full own branding without "Powered by HDI" is available for $1,500 on top of any plan or pack. With your CRM connected, each lead arrives with the score, the band, the sector and the hours, so you can contact the prospects with the largest leak first. How the CRM link works →

How does the data support a budget request?

The champion inside the prospect has to defend the purchase to finance. A measured number does that better than a promise: "our operation spends about 1,100 hours a month compensating for dependency, mostly in these three processes" is a sentence a quality head can take to a budget meeting. The screening reports hours and FTE. The audit turns them into money on assumptions the client agrees.

The strongest case for software in pharma is time returned to qualified people: the QA specialist who leads every investigation, the planner who arranges every manufacturing slot. HDI measures that time. It frees qualified people from routine and does not aim to replace them with AI.

How does the audit rank the processes where your product fits?

The audit ranks the client's processes by how much work waits on specific people. The top of the list shows where software removes the most hours, and it rests on the client's own evidence, so the client trusts it. If Deviation & CAPA tops the list, that is a QMS conversation. If Batch Record Management tops it, that is an MES conversation. If neither does, you learn early that your product is not the first step.

Who runs the audit?

A certified auditor runs it. Many vendors leave workshops to their implementation partners. Your implementation partners can run the audit with their own certified auditors. Certification is a tutorial and a test of 20 questions, and a certificate is valid for 12 months. How certification works →

HDI sells to partners. It does not sell to your prospects and does not build automation, so it never competes with you for a client.

What does it cost?

The subscription is $500 a month or $5,000 a year and includes unlimited client screenings and your logo on the screening link. If you only want the door-opener, the subscription is all you need. Audits are bought in packs when you or your implementation partners run them: $2,500 for one audit, down to $800 per audit in a pack of ten. The first 60 days are free, with no card. How do I start?

Take the screening yourself first, as a prospect would. Then start the 60-day free trial: you get your own link with your logo within a minute. Connect your CRM, put the link on your website and in your next outreach, and buy a pack when the first prospect asks for the audit.
